The Jerusalem Cross was a common symbol used by Crusaders to remind them of the Holy Land and claiming it for Christ. Some legends say that the five crosses, one larger and four smaller, stand for the five wounds of Christ.
In this Lenten season, let us contemplate the passion of Christ and surrender our hearts to Him by taking up our cross.
